Hope for the Children of Africa (Council of Bishops) Endowment Fund Africa today stands at a crossroads. The scale of poverty and suffering on the continent is daunting. Three hundred million people live on less than $1 per day. Life expectancy is 48 years and falling. More than one-third of all children are malnourished; more than 40 per cent have no access to education. Twenty-eight million people live with HIV/AIDS, and for over 100 million people, war is a part of daily life.
The crisis facing Africa today is a result of failures at all levels, both within and outside of Africa. Many countries in Africa need fair and accountable governance that works in the best interests of poor people, at national, regional, and international levels. Global trade, investment, and diplomatic engagement have too often worked against the interests of the poor.
The United Methodist Church Foundation in partnership with the Council of Bishops has established a permanent endowment fund to ensure a steady flow of resources for this important initiative. The Hope for the Children of Africa Endowment Fund will enable us to effect long-term change and prevent poverty in a region that so desperately needs support for decades to come.

JUSTPEACE (JUSTPEACE) Endowment Fund Recent studies have revealed that 26% of churches are highly conflicted and 1 out of every 50 churches is sued each year. We all bear the scars and pain of destructive conflict. We all know its cost to financial and human resources.
When we use adversarial tactics to gain victory in a conflict and when we avoid or ignore conflict altogether, tension and emotions rise and become more strained until something breaks. The first thing to break is communication; the next is the relationship itself. We need to discover better ways deal with conflict.
How do we do this?
By changing our attitudes to situations of conflict and difference, seeing them as opportunities for growth, learning and even God's revelation. By changing our processes to those that genuinely engage us such as mediation, circles and corporate discernment. By learning new skills or spiritual practices such as listening for understanding, speaking the truth in love, and using our imagination.
Ours is a ministry of reconciliation, a ministry of JUSTPEACE.
This is an invitation to join us as we build our future together by supporting the JUSTPEACE Endowment Fund. [Donate Now]

Social Justice Ministry (GBCS) Endowment Fund The United Methodist Church Foundation and the General Board of Church & Society recently united in launching an endowment fund to ensure that the visionary ministry of the Board and its predecessors over the past 100 years continues for centuries to come. The Social Justice Ministries Endowment Fund will ensure a future in which a strong and prophetic United Methodist voice for the poor and oppressed will be heard in the corridors of power. This endowment will enable the Board to continue to educate, empower and equip new generations of United Methodists to live out their faith journey as witnesses for justice and to serve as the hands of Christ in transforming the world. Income earned from the Fund will be available to the Board to use for any purpose consistent with its ministries to respond to the Christian social concerns of the day.
As stewards of the Church's commitment to social holiness, the Social Justice Ministries Endowment Fund will help to ensure that work to halt social ills like gambling, nuclear weapons proliferation, and environmental degradation are not limited by church budget constraints. We must see to it that operational cutbacks never threaten to silence the voice in the wilderness calling humanity toward God’s righteousness for all of God’s creation. It is essential that as new moral and ethical issues arise – ones we cannot yet imagine – that the United Methodist Church have the ability to respond. [Donate Now]

The Upper Room (GBOD) Endowment Fund At Upper Room Ministries, our mission is to help people grow in their relationship with God.
Our vision is to help create a worldwide community of people who, through prayer and practice, seek each day to walk with Christ.
Our dream is to invite all persons -- young or old, alone or in a family -- to open their lives to God and to let the love of Christ rule their hearts.
Since 1935, Upper Room Ministries has answered God's call to provide resources that help people grow in their spiritual lives and in their relationships with God and others. Our resources help people recognize and use the gifts God has given them.
In Luke's story of the disciples on the road to Emmaus, we discover the nature and bounty of God's gifts to each one of us. We see that Christ is always present with us, seeking a deeper relationship with us each day. We come to understand that Christ can be experienced and known through prayer, meditation on scripture, hospitality to strangers, and breaking bread in Christ's name. We recognize in these gifts the grace by which we can seek Christ and know him through faith.
The Upper Room Endowment will support the various programs that draw people's attentiveness to God through a pattern of daily prayer, reflection on scripture, and response to God's call. In our view, engaging in this pattern of prayer, study, and action is central to spiritual development. [Donate Now]
